Make the most out of Twitter with these iPhone apps

Twitter, we all are aware of it as a micro-blogging platform that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets". Registered users can read and post tweets, but those who are unregistered can only read them. It is not a platform used just by the nerds, techies but its been used by almost every sector and nowadays its the first hand source to check on the news and happenings around the globe.

As per Twitter stats, 80% of the active users are accessing Twitter from their mobiles. For some, it's a medium to follow celebs, track the news, chat during breaks, a network to expand their social connections & build professional ties. In today's scenario there are many Twitter apps available for iPhone users.

The apps which I tried are as follows:

Twitter's official app for iOS is light on usage. It is packed with all the features that Twitter for web comes with. In this app we also can mute users but not any hashtags or source apps.

Tweetbot is a wonderful Twitter client that’s powerful and a joy to use. It has all the features we would expect in a full-featured Twitter client. The statistics view is a delight which shows daily tweets, retweets & favorites. A night theme for low-light reading is brilliant. In this app we can mute users, hashtags, ketwords & source apps.

  • Echofon (My favorite) - Free & Paid app

Echofon is lightning fast & super powerful. Simple to use. Echofon is wrapped in a beautiful, clean interface. In this app we can mute users, hashtags & source apps.

Twitterrific is the award-winning, elegant Twitter client that’s easy to understand and easy to use. We can customizing fonts, avatar sizes, image thumbnails and more via the theme panel.

Tweet7 is one of the simplified Twitter app which comes with clean interface. It leaves only one button on your screen, hiding the rest of the menu items. Accessing mentions, messages and your profile is done in an elegant way by sliding a layer for each of them from the side of the screen.

TweetList 4 is a full-featured Twitter client that highlights Twitter lists. But even if you don't use Twitter lists, you'll love TweetList's speed and intuitive user interface.

Tweetlogix comes with powerful filtering such as mute users, keywords or phrases & even retweets. Design your own color themes is easy.

Out of these apps, Twitter's official app & Tweetbot 4 are my favorites. Which of these apps you are using? Let me know your favorite Twitter app & the reason behind it.
