Old Wild West Review: Its all about TexMex cuisine

Old Wild West s all about TexMex cuisine [Tex-Mex (from Texan and Mexican) is a term describing a fusion of American cuisine and Mexican cuisine, deriving from the culinary creations of Tejanos. It has spread from border states such as Texas and those in the Southwestern United States to the rest of the country as well as Canada. Tex-Mex is most popular in the state of Texas. Some ingredients are common in Mexican cuisine, but other ingredients not typically used in Mexico are often added. Tex-Mex cuisine is characterized by its heavy use of shredded cheese, meat (particularly beef and pork), beans, and spices, in addition to Mexican-style tortillas.

Located around the perfect buzzing place in Lower Parel where in most of the corporate companies have their base. The ambiance is bang on with the cowboy culture. They have very spacious seating arrangement. You will see hats, guns, boots around the walls.

They play awesome music and as the time passes through the night, the music gets into party mode. Friendly servers & most important, they know their stuff about the cuisine. Ask them about the specialties & they will come up with many recommendations.

Keen on some adventure? There is a bull ride too. Just hop on it & stay as long as you can on the bull experiencing the sudden moves. If you are lucky, the owners might offer you a challenge of you staying on the bull for longer period, the next drink will be on them. Not to forget the selfie wall. Pose like cowboy with the props: Guns & Hats & go on the selfie spree. When it came to food, I tried:

Melon Breeze – Chilled watermelon juice.

Sweet & Smoky Chicken Wings – Juicy marinated grilled chicken wings tossed up in Mexican Chipotle BBQ sauce served with traditional blue cheese dip. These were a bit on sweet side but do request for the spicy version.

Texan Veg Nachos – Traditional Nacho chips topped with homemade cowboy beans, mix cheese, pico de galo (also called salsa fresca, is a fresh, uncooked salad made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh serranos, salt, and key lime juice), sour-cream & guacamole.

Veg Burritos – Traditional Mexican Burrito served with marinated grilled cottage cheese, authentic guacamole, sour-cream, pico de galo (also called salsa fresca, is a fresh, uncooked salad made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh serranos, salt, and key lime juice) & flavored fries.

Greek Style Veggie Panini – Greed style salad in a traditional panini bread topped with Greek mayo, iceberg lettuce, olives, tomatoes & cucumber cooked in panini grill, served along with flavored fries.

Traditional Italian Tiramisu – Traditional Tiramisu served in glass flavored with coffee liquor and coffee cream. The Tiramisu was packed with flavor and punch of coffee liquor which made it heavenly. Every spoon was worth it. Old Wild West has flavorsome offerings with good amount of quantity. Do ask them about the chef specialties if you are not familiar with the cuisine. The Tiramisu is a must to order. You won’t regret. After a tiring day if you want to unwind yourself with friends, this place is a must visit.
